• Romanian man must pay over $11 million in New Orleans area card skimming case (wgno.com) — Chalmette shoppers were among those targeted in a major New Orleans-area card skimming scheme that hit Walmart stores in several nearby communities. A Romanian man has now been sentenced to five years in prison and ordered to pay over $11 million in restitution for his role in collecting and transmitting stolen card data. Residents who used cards at local Walmarts should stay alert to suspicious account activity.
