• SOFTBALL: Burns named SLC Student-Athlete of the Year; five Lions earn Southland All-Academic honors (an17.com) — A standout season from Clinton native Shelby Morris just earned her Southland All-Academic softball honors, capping a record-setting year at Southeastern Louisiana University. Morris led the Lions with a .396 average and new school records in runs and total bases, while four teammates, including league Student-Athlete of the Year pitcher Hallie Burns, were also recognized for excelling on the field and in the classroom.
