• The Fontainebleau-Destrehan winner took a 1-0 series lead after a sophomore pitcher dominated (nola.com) — Destrehan’s baseball team dropped a tight 1-0 home playoff opener to Fontainebleau, stranding the tying and winning runs on base in the seventh, but they’ll get another shot Friday at 4:30 p.m. on their own field. Sophomore right-hander Josh Muller is expected to start as Destrehan tries to even the best-of-three series and force a decisive game on Saturday.
