Detectives say they later found suspected fentanyl, meth, marijuana, and cash at his Ida Street home. The woman survived, and the investigation into the alleged drug activity is ongoing.

• 2026 LHSAA softball brackets released (katc.com) — Eunice High’s softball team has earned the No. 19 seed in the 2026 LHSAA Division II non-select playoffs, setting up a postseason run against other Acadiana programs. Local fans can now see exactly where Eunice and nearby schools like Iota, Jennings, and Basile landed in the statewide brackets and start tracking potential matchups.
