Baseball Playoffs: Fontainebleau, Mandeville, Northshore, Northlake Christian among winners Thursday (crescentcitysports.com) ā Houma fans saw Houma Christian fall 11-10 in extra innings to Northlake Christian on a walk-off homer, but the Warriors are still in the playoff spotlight. Thursdayās opening-round action also featured wins by Fontainebleau, Mandeville, and Northshore, with a full slate of series continuing today across south Louisiana.

4. Coast Guard to homeport first two Arctic Security Cutters in Alaska (workboat.com) ā Houmaās Bollinger Shipyards has been tapped to build four new Arctic Security Cutters for the U.S. Coast Guard, with the first U.S.-built vessel expected in 2029. While the ships will be homeported in Alaska, the construction work in Houma should mean years of high-skill jobs and economic activity tied to a multibillion-dollar federal icebreaker program.
