• Jean Necessary Istre (dailyleader.com) — Family and friends in Jennings can honor longtime educator Jean Necessary Istre at a Mass of Christian Burial this Saturday afternoon at Our Lady of Christians Catholic Church. Raised and educated in Jennings, she went on to teach local children, build a long career in education and community service, and later settled in Lake Charles, leaving behind a wide circle of relatives and friends across Jennings and nearby towns.
