• Marrero man sentenced to life for killing his grandfather, setting his house on fire (nola.com) — A Marrero man has been sentenced to two life terms plus 60 years for killing his grandfather and another man in a Gladstone Drive home, then trying to burn the house and taking a vehicle. The Jefferson Parish judge ordered all sentences served consecutively and without parole, underscoring the severity of the 2020 double homicide that shook the Marrero neighborhood.
   

• Jefferson Parish Council takes on yearslong water bill complaint issue (nola.com) — Jefferson Parish leaders are reexamining years of rising water and sewer bills and the rollout of new smart meters that many residents, including a Marrero homeowner, say are overcharging them. The council may slow future rate hikes and hire an outside firm to review disputed bills, while officials insist many spikes stem from leaks and are being handled case by case.
   

• Troop B Pursuit Leads to Recovery of Stolen Vehicle and Arrest of Armed Suspects, Including Attempted Murder Fugitive (einpresswire.com) — A Marrero man was arrested after allegedly fleeing troopers in a stolen truck in Jefferson Parish, with two passengers also taken into custody. All three face a long list of charges, and two were already wanted in New Orleans on serious felony warrants.
