1. 2nd arrest made in $1M steroid, drug lab bust at Metairie home (wwltv.com) — Law enforcement has made a second arrest tied to a suspected million‑dollar steroid and drug lab operating out of a Metairie home on Tolmas Drive. Deputies seized drugs, 3D‑printed guns and other evidence, and the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office says more state or federal charges could still be filed as the investigation continues. 
2. Blake Pontchartrain: Metairie's Little Red Schoolhouse had a past life as a movie theater (nola.com) — If you've ever passed the Little Red Schoolhouse on Metairie Road, you've been looking at a former neighborhood movie theater. From the 1940s through 1971, The Grand showed films to Metairie residents before later becoming a vet clinic and, since 1988, the preschool locals know today.

New Orleans home and garden events for early September 2026 (nola.com) — Gardeners and tree lovers in Metairie can look ahead to Tree School on Oct. 29 at the Jefferson Performing Arts Center, a low‑cost seminar offering expert talks and continuing education hours.
