Police Jury/Minden Medical Center special meet postponed (websterparishjournal.com) — A special Webster Parish Police Jury meeting about financial troubles at Minden Medical Center has been postponed until the state completes a review of the hospital. Jurors plan to question the CEO and management company once Louisiana’s hospital department issues its findings, which could shape the future of Minden’s key medical facility.

City, parish applying for road safety grant funds (websterparishjournal.com) — Minden city officials have authorized Mayor Nick Cox to seek a state road safety grant that would upgrade striping and signage on locally owned streets to reduce serious crashes. Some work may occur just outside city limits, but the project is structured to benefit Minden drivers while the parish coordinates its own portions.

Families are enjoying a foam zone for kids, community fellowship, and a citywide scavenger hunt that runs through Saturday at midnight.
