• Entergy New Orleans Grid Hardening Starts With $2.05M Grant (microgridmedia.com) — Entergy New Orleans has started a federally backed grid-hardening project in the Leonidas and Hollygrove neighborhoods, upgrading 94 poles and 1.6 miles of lines to cut outage frequency and duration. Backed by a $2.05 million U.S. Department of Energy grant, the two-year effort should benefit about 1,900 customers, including critical facilities, without triggering a separate rate hike for this project.
   

• New Orleans will launch new, streamlined permitting program (fox8live.com) — New Orleans is rolling out a new "concierge" permitting program aimed at helping small businesses, starting with a pilot in New Orleans East along the Chef Menteur Industrial Corridor and Canal Corridor. Two dedicated staffers will guide applicants through city approvals from start to finish, a change local entrepreneurs hope will cut delays and encourage more investment in neighborhoods still rebuilding decades after Katrina.
   

• GNO Inc. leader in D.C. as Louisiana seeks U.S. Space Academy (fox8live.com) — Louisiana leaders, including Greater New Orleans Inc. and Mayor Helena Moreno, are in Washington, D.C., pushing to land a planned U.S. Space Academy that could significantly benefit New Orleans' Michoud facility and local economy. They argue the region's emerging "space corridor," from Lafayette to New Orleans and Stennis, makes the state uniquely positioned to host students and future space-industry jobs.
