Opelousas Police apprehend escaped inmate (katc.com) ā€” Opelousas police quickly recaptured a Beauregard Parish inmate who escaped from a transport vehicle Wednesday near U.S. 190 and Wallior Street. Officers found the 29ā€‘yearā€‘old Opelousas man within 30 minutes, and he was booked into St. Landry Parish Jail on an additional simple escape charge.

Cops Capture Community (stlandrynow.com) ā€” Opelousas residents turned out for the police departmentā€™s annual ā€œNights Out,ā€ enjoying free food, school supplies, and a chance to meet officers across from headquarters.
