• White Linen and Lagniappe Returns to Olde Towne Slidell on August 8 (myslidell.com) — Slidell’s White Linen and Lagniappe street festival returns to Olde Towne this Saturday, August 8, from 6–9 p.m., with free admission, live music, and specials at dozens of local restaurants and shops. Hosted by the City of Slidell and local business groups, the event packs Olde Towne with art, food, drinks, and shopping while spotlighting homegrown musicians and merchants. 
• Slidell duplex near elementary school evacuated after ‘volatile materials' discovered (wgno.com) — Authorities evacuated a duplex on City Drive in Slidell after a federal search warrant led investigators to discover unspecified “volatile materials” inside the building Wednesday.
