• Man faces assault charge in connection with Auburn stabbing (newscentermaine.com) — Auburn police are investigating a Tuesday evening stabbing near Goff Street that left a 43-year-old man with non-life-threatening injuries. Officers quickly detained a 33-year-old man who now faces an aggravated assault charge and was hospitalized after a psychiatric evaluation. Police say the victim has already been treated and released from the hospital.

Lockdowns were lifted after officials said no weapon was seen and no public threats were confirmed, but law enforcement from Auburn, Lewiston, and the county continued an intensive search in nearby neighborhoods and streets.
