• U.S. Navy Band and musicians to perform in Boothbay Harbor (boothbayregister.com) — Free U.S. Navy Band concerts are coming to Boothbay Harbor June 23 and 24, with performances at the Opera House, Eastside Waterfront Park, and Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library. All shows are family-friendly, free, and part of Windjammer Days and the lead-up to the nation’s 250th anniversary. Bring a chair or blanket for the outdoor sets; no tickets are required. 
• Geocaching: Treasure at your fingertips (boothbayregister.com) — Boothbay Harbor residents Martha Cowdery and Mike Tomko have turned geocaching into a 12-year adventure, hiding and finding caches from town duck ponds to spots across the country. They maintain 17 local caches, including the popular “Beware of Ducks” on Road’s End, drawing visitors down the peninsula. Their goal is to share hidden beaches, history, and favorite local stops with anyone willing to hunt.
