• Registration open for the 2026 Pemaquid Beach Triathlon (boothbayregister.com) — Registration is now open for the Aug. 23 Pemaquid Beach Triathlon, which raises money for a new playground at Pemaquid Beach Park in Bristol. Residents can race individually or on relay teams along a scenic course through Bristol Mills, Round Pond, and Chamberlain, with early sign-ups securing lower fees and guaranteed race shirts.

• 500 acres of Hart Woods now under care of Coastal Rivers Conservation Trust (pressherald.com) — A 500-acre stretch of Hart Woods spanning Bremen and Bristol is now permanently conserved by Coastal Rivers Conservation Trust, protecting wetlands that feed the Pemaquid River watershed. The preserve will host education programs and, by 2027, offer marked trails and a new trailhead on Fogler Road, giving Bristol residents a major new nearby place to explore.
