• Three Maine towns to share $4M for safety infrastructure upgrades (mainebiz.biz) — Brownfield is set to receive $2.9 million in federal funding to build a new public safety building, replacing the aging fire station that no longer meets the town’s needs. The upgraded facility will fit modern fire trucks, improve training and storage space, and is expected to speed up emergency response times for residents. Similar USDA grants are also helping Springfield and Surry upgrade their fire infrastructure. 
• Lovell third graders choose kindness over pizza (tncontentexchange.com) — Students at Brownfield-Denmark Elementary are spreading kindness through a dedicated Kindness Club, posting uplifting notes and affirmations that classmates say they really needed. Their efforts complement nearby New Suncook School in Lovell, where third graders chose making thoughtful gifts over a pizza or extra recess reward. Together, these projects highlight how local schools are nurturing empathy and community spirit.
