• Fryeburg weighs Recall Petition Ordinance (tncontentexchange.com) — Fryeburg officials are considering a new ordinance that could force select board members to forfeit their seats for poor attendance or serious misconduct, but some residents argue a formal recall process is also needed. At an April 9 hearing, longtime former selectperson Tom Klinepeter and others pressed for a citizen-driven recall option, while the board delayed discussion until its April 23 meeting deadline for the June Town Meeting warrant.
   

• Parent's profane comments cause SAD 72 school board to recess (tncontentexchange.com) — A tense SAD 72 school board meeting in Fryeburg was recessed after Brownfield parent Trish Burnell used repeated profanity while protesting a Democratic candidate event held at Molly Ockett Middle School. Board chair Beth Bosworth later clarified that administrators, not the board, approve facility rentals and said she skipped the rally to avoid conflicts of interest, urging more civil, policy-respecting dialogue.
