• Kennebunkport voters say town should cover some Christmas Prelude costs (pressherald.com) — Kennebunkport voters signaled this week that the town should keep covering up to $35,000 in municipal costs for the popular Christmas Prelude, though a binding funding referendum will come in November. The nonbinding ballot question followed discovery of a decades‑old ordinance limiting town support, and residents also reelected Mary Beth Gilbert to the selectboard.
   

• Kennebunkport officers pass the torch in Arundel (pressherald.com) — Kennebunkport police officers helped kick off this year’s Law Enforcement Torch Run, handing the Special Olympics “Flame of Hope” to York County deputies at the Arundel town line on Route 1. From there, officers and family members ran a 4.2‑mile leg toward Biddeford as part of the statewide relay to Orono, supporting more than 2,200 Special Olympics athletes from across Maine.
