ā¢ Machiasport wins decades-long fight over a gravel road (themainemonitor.org) ā Machiasport has secured a key legal victory in a decades-long fight over maintenance of Beach Road, the gravel route linking a coastal peninsula to the village center. A judge ruled the town fully complied with a 1997 order, despite landownersā objections, but a separate eminent domain case over moving the eroding road inlandāand a $475,000 state grant tied to itāremains unresolved.
