• Despite late-night maneuvering, agriculture bond fails enactment again (newsfromthestates.com) — Oxford’s state senator, Rick Bennett, is backing a $45 million statewide agriculture bond that just fell short of final approval in the Maine House, despite clearing the Senate with strong bipartisan support. Lawmakers could still revive the measure on April 29, which would send the bond to voters in November to support struggling farms, forestry, and related programs across Maine.
   

• Gun rights, cannabis testing and more left in limbo after Legislature's early adjournment (newsfromthestates.com) — Oxford residents are directly represented in a key unresolved State House fight, as Sen. Rick Bennett of Oxford tried and failed to revive a housing bond bill before lawmakers adjourned. His effort was among many stalled measures, including gun rights changes and cannabis testing rules, now likely to die or face uncertain action when the Legislature briefly reconvenes on April 29.
