• Skowhegan's Firefighter Rick retires after teaching fire safety for decades (centralmaine.com) — A longtime Solon resident, Capt. Rick Caldwell is retiring after 31 years with the Skowhegan Fire Department, where he became a familiar face teaching fire safety across central Maine. Neighbors can still catch him at a public celebration at the Skowhegan fire station Friday afternoon, and he plans to remain on the call force while enjoying more time at home in Solon.
