1. 2 wild animals in Harford County test positive for rabies, health officials warn (wmar2news.com) — Health officials are warning Aberdeen residents after a groundhog near Manor Road tested positive for rabies, along with a raccoon in nearby Havre de Grace. Anyone in Harford County who had contact with similar animals in those areas should call the health department for guidance, and pet owners are urged to be especially cautious.
   

2. Southern Maryland Target Store's to Participate in Pokémon's 30th Anniversary Celebration (smnewsnet.com) — Families in Aberdeen can join Pokémon's 30th anniversary fun at the local Target store this Sunday, with activities, giveaways, and themed photo spots. The statewide celebration runs from noon to 4 p.m., and Aberdeen is among 36 Maryland locations offering card-drawing activities, game demos at select stores, and plenty of Pokémon merchandise.
   

3. Terrestrial Energy to supply nuclear technology for Army power project (militaryaerospace.com) — A new project at Aberdeen Proving Ground aims to pair natural gas with an advanced molten salt nuclear reactor to boost the base's energy reliability, right in Aberdeen's backyard. Developer Ameresco and reactor designer Terrestrial Energy say the phased system will feed the regional grid and strengthen long-term power resilience, though no construction timeline is set yet.
   

4. Havre de Grace looks at ways to cut through its own red tape (harfordcountysun.com) — Havre de Grace is weighing dozens of recommendations to simplify its development rules, potentially making it easier and cheaper to build or renovate near Aberdeen. A volunteer committee suggests a unified development code, easier minor variances, and better-trained boards, with council work sessions next to decide which reforms to tackle first.
