17-Year-Old Charged In Annapolis Shooting: Police
A 17-year-old being charged as an adult is facing attempted first-degree murder for an April shooting in Annapolis.
ANNAPOLIS, MD — A 17-year-old is being charged with attempted first-degree murder in connection to a shooting that took place last month.
The Annapolis Police Department said in an updated release that the teenager is being charged as an adult in the case. He was arrested Friday at a home in Severn.
Police did not name the teen or specify the additional charges being weighed in the case. Patch has contacted the department.

The charges stem from the April 11 shooting that took place at the 700 block of Newtowne Drive. Police had responded to reports of a contact shooting around 5:30 p.m.
At the scene, authorities were approached by an individual who informed them that they had been shot. The severity of the injury was not detailed by investigators.

Several witnesses also told investigators that they had heard multiple gunshots ring out in the area. No other injuries were reported at the time.
Police said the teenager is being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center.
