ATF investigates Annapolis house explosion that killed woman (wbaltv.com) — Investigators are still combing through debris on Green Holly Drive after a deadly house explosion in Annapolis killed a 76-year-old woman and left a man in critical condition. ATF crews are using heavy equipment to search for the cause, while evacuated neighbors slowly return, describing the blast, scattered debris, and efforts to rescue the injured resident.
   

3. Annapolis Police Seize Drugs and Loaded Gun During Madison Street Search (eyeonannapolis.net) — Annapolis Police say they seized cocaine, heroin, PCP, amphetamine, and a loaded handgun with an obliterated serial number while serving a search warrant Wednesday in the 1100 block of Madison Street. A 31-year-old man from Bowie was arrested, charged, and is being held without bond, underscoring ongoing local efforts to target suspected drug manufacturing and weapons offenses in city neighborhoods.
   

4. Two $1M lottery tickets lead Maryland's $30.4M winning week (shorenewsnetwork.com) — Annapolis residents might want to double-check their recent scratch-offs: one ticket sold in the city delivered a $200,000 prize during a week when Maryland Lottery players won more than $30.4 million statewide. The report also notes two separate $1 million wins in Fallston and Manchester and dozens of other big payouts.

Where to Crack Crabs and Get on the Water Near DC (washingtonian.com) — Annapolis gets the spotlight as a quick 45-minute escape from DC, where visitors can sail on 74-foot schooners from the waterfront and tour the harbor.
