An evening filled with celebration, generosity and heartfelt stories resulted in nearly $300,000 raised for Hospice of the Chesapeake during its second Bubbles & Bingo fundraiser.

Held Friday night at the Fluegel Alumni Center in Annapolis, the black-tie event brought together supporters from across the four counties served by the organization. Guests enjoyed an elegant evening of cocktails, gourmet cuisine and champagne, all in support of compassionate care for patients and families facing serious illness and loss.

A moving highlight of the evening was a video tribute to patient Brian Adam, shared by his wife, daughter and nephew. They reflected on how palliative, hospice and grief support services helped Brian continue living fully despite his Parkinson’s diagnosis. With the support of care teams, he remained at home, traveled with family and embraced each day with his signature outlook: “It’s a great day to be alive.”

The evening shifted to a lively series of bingo games, where seven guests won prize packages valued between $1,600 and $6,500.

President and CEO Becky Miller closed out the evening with a note of gratitude to the guests and sponsors who made the event a success, “Because of your generosity, your compassion and your willingness to show up, families in our community will not have to walk their hardest days alone,” Miller said. “You are part of every moment of comfort, every story of dignity and every reminder that it truly is a great day to be alive.”
