County Holds Ceremony For Renovated Road Bridge
After years of construction and a costly renovation, county officials held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Magothy Bridge Road Bridge.

ANNE ARUNDEL CO., MD — A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Thursday to highlight a newly rehabilitated road bridge connecting two towns.
The Magothy Bridge Road Bridge, which serves as a major connector for the Severna Park and Pasadena communities, came under construction in September 2023.
With a price tag of $8.3 million, of which $4.79 million came from the Maryland State Highway Administration, it wasn't until last December that work was finished.

Officials say the bridge's steel beam layout will help reduce future maintenance needs and that it extends the lifespan of the roadway by an estimated 75 years.
“This new bridge represents a crucial investment in local infrastructure and will have a lasting positive impact for generations to come,” said DPW Director Karen Henry.
“This bridge is an important connection for our residents, supporting daily commutes while improving safety and access for drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists.”
The ceremony included the participation of County Executive Steuart Pittman and Council member Nathan Volke.
