City of Baltimore: The "Charm'tastic Mile" Honors USPTO World Intellectual Property Day '26

April 29, 2026 - The "Charm'tastic Mile" of Baltimore (CTMB-1.3) www.thecharmtasticmile.com. The chic & famed 1.3 mile corridor located in the heart of Charm City (Est.1975) that connects Dwtn-West, the Inner Harbor & Harbor East (S. Greene & W. Pratt Street to S. President & Fleet Street) that is now listed on Google search as one of the Top 10-15 Most Famous Streets in America is reporting this past Sunday April 26th was World Intellectual Property Day.

Today in Washington, DC at the U.S. Capitol the World Intellectual Property (IP) in association with the USPTO www.uspto.gov and the global community are having a celebration theme "IP and Sports: Ready, Set, Innovate" in observance of WIPD '26. The power of sports and their trademarks is one of the lucrative engines in the world economy. This will be one of the topics of discussion at the event this afternoon (2:00 PM - 5:00 PM).

The 4 major sports leagues (MLB, NBA, NFL, NHL) and big-time college sports here in America with logos and merchandise have created an economic machine that dominates with consumers, alums and sports fanatics.

Here in Charm City, The "Charm'tastic Mile" is a (R) registered trademark, the Iconic 1.3 mile stretch-corridor in the heart of downtown has Oriole Park, M&T Bank Stadium, National Aquarium, Inner Harbor as scenic backdrops to L-Shaped Street. The recent IP acquisition of the Preakness by Churchill Downs for 80 million shows the value of a trademark of that stature.

The "Charm'tastic Mile" was published as a USPTO trademark on September 15, 2020. It joined The Magnificent Mile (Chicago), Rodeo Drive (Beverly Hills) and Vegas Strip (Las Vegas) as the very few streets that are USPTO trademarks. This past April 25th, The "Charm'tastic Mile" celebrated its 10th Anniversary (2016-26) of being introduced to City of Baltimore. Their 10th was honored by Mayor Brandon Scott (Certificate of Recognition) & Gov. Wes Moore (Governor's Citation).
