HARFORD COUNTY, MD — In honor of America’s 250th birthday, Harford county leaders are welcoming the Freedom Truck 250 and launching the Harford County Celebration Trail.

The Freedom Truck 250, a traveling museum, will stop in Maryland May 11-13 at the American Legion Post 39 in Bel Air. The free exhibit for all ages includes an AI-powered portrait of George Washington and other interactive features, a wall of heroes and displays of the nation’s founding documents.

“Freedom Truck 250 is an exciting opportunity to learn about and celebrate America 250 and the principles of freedom, equality, limited government, the rule of law and individual responsibility that make this country great,” Harford County Executive Bob Cassilly said.

“American Legion Post 39 is honored to have been selected to host Freedom Truck 250 in Harford County,” Ned Hoedebecke, second vice-commander, said. “We hope to see many citizens visit and take pride in American history.”

The new Harford County Celebration Trail happens to be a new interactive experience highlighting 63 historic sites across the county in honor of America’s 250th birthday. The self-guided trail invites participants to explore museums, historic homes, landmarks and sites that tell the story of the people and events that shaped the nation and the region.

“Harford’s Celebration Trail brings our rich history to life in a way that’s interactive, accessible and fun,” Cassilly said. “Whether you’re visiting for the first time or rediscovering your hometown, this experience encourages you to explore, learn, and celebrate along the way.”

Developed by Hello Harford, the county’s tourism marketing division under the Department of Economic Development, and in collaboration with the America 250 in Harford County Committee, the trail is powered through the Let’s Rallie mobile app. This free app allows users to easily navigate the experience at their own pace and track their progress.

Download the Let’s Rallie app from the App Store or Google Play and search for the Harford County Celebration Trail. Then follow a few simple steps:

1. Explore featured locations using the interactive map and site details.

2. Check in at each destination using the in-app feature.

3. Track progress and revisit memories in the “My Visited Sites” section.

To encourage exploration, participants who record the most site visits through Let’s Rallie in 2026 will be eligible for special giveaways from Hello Harford.
