Pike’s Peek is one of Montgomery County Road Runners Club’s premier racing events. 
The 10K race, known as a PR Course, has runners starting at the Shady Grove Metro Station and finishing on Rose Avenue just south of Montrose Road at North Bethesda’s Pike &amp; Rose. 
The race starts promptly at 7:50 a.m.
The popular event features a Kids Fun Run (about ¼ mile) and a 50-meter Toddler Trot, both in the finish area at Pike &amp; Rose.

On Sunday April 19 world class guitarist and vocalist Sol Roots brings his band to perform at the Sunday Serenade concert series held at Cabin John Amphitheatre located in Bethesda Maryland. This concert series presents some of the very best in Maryland and Washington D.C. area musical performance groups.
Sol Roots performs an award-winning blend of New Orleans influenced funk, deep blues, heartfelt soul, and energetic rock. Known for his ferocious guitar skills and soulful vocals, Sol has toured around the world with many musical legends.
He has spent most of his life touring, recording, producing, and learning directly from roots and blues pioneers such as Beverly “Guitar” Watkins, Albert White, Robert Lee Coleman, Cool John Ferguson, Lee Gates, and more. Sol has also worked as a part of legendary blues group The Nighthawks for several years.
The Sol Roots Band have shared the stage with acts such as Jon Cleary, Soulive, Dumpstaphunk, Popa Chubby, Sonny Landreth, Eric Lindell, Roosevelt Collier, Cory Henry, Walter “Wolfman” Washington, Shemekia Copeland, Jackie Greene, and many more.
The Sunday April 19 concert will include musicians that have worked with Taj Mahal, Guitar Gabriel, Chuck Berry, Funk Ark, Ursula Ricks, and more. Guided by a deep admiration for his musical mentors and a passion for Universal Music, Sol emerges with a distinctive, powerful voice, accompanied by a talented band of musicians. Sol Roots is an official Home Grown Music Network artist and a “Next Generation” Music Maker Foundation artist.

Bring your family and friends to the Purcellville Music and Arts Festival on Saturday, April 25 from noon to 7 p.m. rain or shine. This free, family-friendly event will be held at Fireman’s Field Park and inside the Bush Tabernacle Skating Rink at 250 South Nursery Avenue.

Enjoy a full day of live music and performances across multiple stages, along with an art exhibit, games, chalk art, and a variety of interactive activities. Browse offerings from local vendors featuring handcrafted goods, food, beverages, and more. There will be fun for all ages, including face painting, glitter tattoos, sidewalk chalk art, and t-shirt or tote bag decorating. Local non-profits will also be on-site sharing information and resources. Special activities will highlight and celebrate the 250th anniversary of America’s independence. 
Inside the Bush Tabernacle Skating Rink—transformed into the Art Hall—you’ll find more than 30 works of art, live performances, art demonstrations, and hands-on activities including quilt square decorating and an Instrument Petting Zoo. ICA Language Services (ICA), a family-owned, woman-led small business based in Arlington, is celebrating its 40th anniversary, marking decades of supporting the U.S. military and diplomatic community through language training and testing. Founded in April 1986 as Inlingua Foreign Language Center, a 6-classroom language school, ICA expanded under the leadership of Deidre Doyle, an entrepreneur with a background in organizational management who joined the company the same year. As a military spouse, she had developed a deep understanding of military organizations and culture, helping shape ICA into a trusted provider of language training and testing for military professionals. Doyle became a partner in 1993 and sole owner in 2009, when she changed the name to ICA Language Services. Today, ICA operates a 60+ classroom schoolhouse in Rosslyn and has delivered nearly five million hours of language instruction and more than 30,000 language assessments across 120+ languages. ICA also provides training on military bases throughout the US and abroad. The company is now led by President and CEO Lexie Casey, Doyle’s daughter, who joined ICA in 2009 after a decade in government contracting. Casey became a partner in 2014 and assumed day-to-day leadership in 2015, when Doyle transitioned to Chair of the Board. ICA has employed more than 1,300 individuals from 131 countries, often providing a first job in the United States for language professionals.
