Driver Dies After Car Hits Jersey Wall, Overturns On I-270
The driver of a Lexus sedan died Saturday after losing control of the car and overturning on Interstate 270.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — The driver of a Lexus sedan was killed Saturday after losing control of the car and overturning on Interstate 270 near Montrose Road.
Pete Piringer, of the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service, said the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials have not released the name of the driver.

Authorities were first alerted to the incident around 9:15 a.m. for reports of a collision with entrapment and traumatic injuries.
Photos from the scene showed the car hanging over a jersey wall, flipped on its side with debris scattered along the scene.

Maryland State Police said the driver was the sole occupant of the car, adding that it's unknown what prompted the individual to lose control of the car.
As investigators worked the scene, several lanes on the northbound I-270 lanes were temporarily closed into the afternoon.
Closures prompted car backups to reach the area just before the I-270 spur.
