Montgomery Co. Seeking Donations For Annual Prom Giveaway
Montgomery County Recreation is collecting new and gently used dresses, suits, and accessories for its annual Prom Couture Closet event.
MONTGOMERY CO., MD — As prom season inches closer by the week, county officials are making plans to ensure every student has the chance to be dressed to the nines.
With the annual Prom Couture Closet giveaway less than a month away, the Montgomery County Recreation is putting out a call for donations.
Officials are asking for donations of new and gently used formal wear, including dresses, suits, dry-cleaned shirts, shoes, and ties, among other items.

Donations are being accepted in Burtonsville through Saturday, March 21 at the community center:
- Marilyn J. Praisner Community Recreation Center 14906 Old Columbia Pike Monday–Thursday: 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday: 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday: 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
Two additional collection sites will be held in Germantown and in Chevy Chase:

- Germantown Community Recreation Center 18905 Kingsview Road Saturday, March 7 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
- Jane E. Lawton Community Recreation Center 4301 Willow Lane Saturday, March 21 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Students will be able to pick from the rack selections at the Praisner Community Center. The free giveaway event will be open to the public Saturday, April 4, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
