Residents Are Loving Life at The Grandview

Crescent Overlook, on the main floor, offers an innovative menu and natural decor that pays homage to the seven-mile Capital Crescent Trail.

George Mishraky, sales director at The Grandview, an Erickson Senior Living community that recently opened in Bethesda, Md., joined the team long before construction began.

Now, three years later, he is beyond gratified to see the first residents moving in and enjoying the vibrant, worry-free lifestyle that The Grandview offers.

"It's a bit surreal," Mishraky says. "The finished product is even more amazing than the renderings. We're so happy to welcome residents to our first building."

The community's grand opening celebration in December 2025, complete with a ribbon cutting, represented the remarkable culmination of a very busy few years.

Smooth moves

With so many residents moving in around the same time, The Grandview created a strategic plan to ensure a smooth process for everyone involved.

"We partnered with a logistics manager from a senior move management company, who worked hand in hand with Hannah Davis, our planning and moving consultant, and Ben Clay, our moving coordinator," explains Mishraky.

"Together, they helped residents with every phase of the process--downsizing, recommending preferred real estate agents, and coordinating with moving companies."

Mishraky shares a story about a resident who wanted to supply the range for her new home. "The logistics manager was able to get the range removed from her former house and transferred to a delivery company. The entire process was seamless," he recalls.

Logistics within the community, like blocking off certain elevators for move-in days, was also handled well in advance.

"They all did an incredible job," Mishraky notes.

Positive first impressions

Last fall, the community held new resident orientation sessions that offered incoming residents a sneak peek at their new homes and the industry-leading amenities.

"When they saw the lobby with the huge columns and high ceilings, they were wowed. They loved the decor, aesthetics, and the color scheme. They were impressed all over the board," Mishraky says. "They could not get over the size of the fitness center and are very excited about the restaurants."

The Grandview features three restaurants: Crescent Overlook, the main sit-down, full-service venue; West of Wisconsin for burgers and salads; and View at 140th, a fine dining restaurant with a rooftop wine bar and incredible vistas.

"People were tearing up from happiness and joy, and I received about 100 hugs. It was amazing," he says. "So many people said that it exceeded their expectations."

Making friends

Mishraky notes that residents especially appreciated the opportunity to gather at the Sales Center for informational sessions and to form clubs with future neighbors.

"Several clubs were meeting for years before the community opened," he says. "People became friends with their future neighbors because of the groups. I've heard time and time again how much they liked getting together over a shared interest, like books or cards, and talking about their excitement for The Grandview."

Now that Potomac Heights--The Grandview's first building--has opened, residents are strengthening these existing friendships and making new connections through a range of on-campus events and activities.

Next up: Woodmont Terrace

Construction is currently underway for Woodmont Terrace, the community's second building, which is slated to welcome its first residents this fall.

Interest in Woodmont Terrace is very high. "And now that people can tour Potomac Heights, interest will only continue to increase," notes Mishraky.

In December, The Grandview invited Woodmont Terrace reservists to visit Potomac Heights to get a glimpse of community life and tour some available floor plans. Soon, Priority List members will be invited to an exclusive open house, giving them the chance to tour available floor plans as well.

"Since the $1,000 deposit to join the Priority List is 100% refundable, it's a risk-free way to explore The Grandview and learn more about everything the community offers," says Mishraky. "Members can also save their spot in line for a future residence--a huge advantage, given the high demand for Woodmont Terrace."

Looking ahead

Reflecting on this exciting new chapter for The Grandview, Mishraky is excited to welcome even more retirees to the community.

"Now that it's real and they have moved in, it's been emotional for many residents," he says. "They love the engaging, carefree lifestyle they've been waiting for!"
