Driver Sentenced In Prince George's Crash That Killed Passenger
A woman who claimed she was the passenger but was the driver and intoxicated has been sentenced to prison after her passenger was killed.
DISTRICT HEIGHTS, MD — A judge has sentenced a driver to prison after she was convicted of motor vehicle manslaughter that led to the death of 31-year-old Erika Boykin.
In January 2025, LaTyre Moore was driving on Marlboro Pike near Walters Lane when she lost control of her vehicle and went airborne. Boykin was in the vehicle and was ejected. She died at the scene, according to the Prince George's County Office of the State's Attorney.
After the accident, Moore claimed she was the passenger, not the driver. Authorities proved Moore was the driver and was intoxicated.

Moore pleaded guilty to motor vehicle manslaughter. A judge sentenced Moore to 10 years in prison, suspending all but five years, followed by five years of supervised probation.
