• Underground radio, literally: Retired HS teacher runs station out of basement (wmar2news.com) — A longtime Baltimore County teacher is now running his 97 Underground metal radio station straight from his Catonsville basement, spotlighting local bands and building a global audience. He describes Catonsville as a great place to get involved, using his homegrown platform to interview area musicians and support the local music scene while still having fun in retirement. 
• Sister Mary Laurentilla Back, S.S.N.D., dies at 93 (catholicreview.org) — Catonsville residents are remembering School Sister of Notre Dame Mary Laurentilla Back, who served at St. Mark School and later led pastoral care at Our Lady of the Angels. The longtime educator and pastoral minister, born in Baltimore and active across several states, died Aug. 10 at age 93; her funeral Mass will be livestreamed Aug. 25 from Stella Maris in Timonium.
