Popular Toy Store Could Return To MoCo After Nationwide Closure (patch.com) — A standalone Toys R Us store is being considered for Clarksburg Premium Outlets on Clarksburg Road, bringing a major toy retailer back to the area. The new shop would sit on the upper level between UGG and Armani Exchange, adding another family-focused draw for local shoppers alongside the brand’s existing Maryland locations. 
2. Voter Guide Error Hits 11 Montgomery County Precincts (moderatelymoco.com) — Some Clarksburg-area voters received Voter Information Guides listing the wrong polling place and party affiliation, though their names, addresses and sample ballots are correct. The Board of Elections is mailing corrected guides to 11 affected precincts and urges residents to verify their polling place and party details by texting FIND or CHECK to 77788, visiting 777vote.org, or calling the office.
3. America's Most Beautiful Vineyards for Harvest Season (foodandwine.com) — Clarksburg’s Burnt Hill Farm earns national attention as one of America’s most beautiful vineyards to visit during harvest season. The winery pairs its wine flights with seasonal garden snacks and house-milled bread, and features a chef’s counter where a former Momofuku chef serves a personal tasting menu built around Burnt Hill and Chesapeake Bay ingredients.
4. Murder Trial Delayed for Mom Who's to Plead 'Not Criminally Responsible' (ledger-enquirer.com) — A long-delayed murder trial tied to a Clarksburg family has been pushed back again, with prosecutors now set to try Catherine Hoggle in October 2027 for the alleged killings of her two young children. Hoggle, who once lived in Clarksburg with the children’s father, plans to plead not criminally responsible due to mental illness, while the children remain missing 12 years after their disappearance.
5. Two Hate/Bias Incidents Among Calls Highlighted in MCPD Daily Crime Summary For Sept. 23 (mocoshow.com) — Montgomery County Police highlighted several Sept. 23 incidents in the 5th District, which covers Germantown, Clarksburg and Damascus, including thefts from a storage trailer and a home along Frederick Road. Officers also documented a hate/bias incident involving a racial slur written in chalk near a pool area, alongside auto thefts and airbag thefts countywide.
