May 26, 2026 - The "Charm'tastic Mile" of Baltimore (CTMB-1.3) www.thecharmtasticmile.com. The chic & famed 1.3 mile corridor located in the heart of Charm City (Est.1975) that connects Dwtn-West, the Inner Harbor & Harbor East (S. Greene & W. Pratt Street to S. President & Fleet Street) that is now listed on Google search as one of the Top 10-15 Most Famous Streets in America is reporting the New York Knicks are on their way to the 2026 NBA Finals.
The Knicks dominated the Cleveland Cavaliers on the road to a 130-93 beatdown to sweep the Cavs and win the Eastern Conference Finals. The last-time New York advanced to the Finals was in the strike-shortened 50-game 1999 season. They lost to the San Antonio Spurs 4-1. The Spurs were led by a young Tim Duncan and veteran David Robinson.
New York was also in the 1994 NBA Finals and lost in 7-Games to the Houston Rockets. Baltimore-native Sam Cassell was a rookie on the Rockets and won his 1st of 3 NBA Championships. The 93-94 NBA Season was played without the services of Michael Jordan (Chicago Bulls) who was on a 20-month retirement from the league.
The 1972-73 NBA Season would be the last for the Baltimore Bullets (52-30); they would move-on to become the Capital Bullets for 1973-74, then the Washington Bullets from 1974-97. They are now known as the Washington Wizards (1997-Present).
They made it all-the-way to the 1971 NBA Finals where they were swept 4-0 by the Milwaukee Bucks. The Bucks were led by veteran star Oscar Robertson and young superstar Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Kareem would win 5 more NBA Championships during the 1980's with Magic Johnson and the LA Lakers.
On their way to the 1973 NBA Finals when they defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 4-1, the Knicks defeated the Bullets in the Eastern Conference Semifinals 4-1. The Bullets were in Baltimore from 1963-73, their last-game as the Baltimore Bullets was on April 8, 1971 a defeat to the NY Knicks.
New York beat Boston in the Eastern Conference Finals 4-3. The Knicks did the almost unthinkable, beating the Celtics in Game-7 at the Iconic Boston Garden.
When the Knicks face either the defending 2025 NBA Champs OKC Thunder or the San Antonio Spurs in The Finals they will be looking to win it all for the 1st time since 1973, the Bullets last-season in Baltimore. The city got the "Charm City" nickname two years later in 1975. The 74-75 Washington Bullets advanced to the '75 Finals and were swept by the Golden State Warriors.
Charn'tastic Stat: 1999 NBA Finals MVP was Tim Duncan of the Spurs. Duncan was born April 25, 1976. This past April 25th The "Charm'tastic Mile" celebrated its official 10th Anniversary of being introduced to Charm City. On April 25, 1971 the 1st of two (4-30-71) NBA Finals games were played at the Civic Center, now known as CFG Bank Arena.
