Waverly Real Estate Group to celebrate the redevelopment of the longtime Baltimore National Pike property with an October 23 ribbon cutting attended by Howard County Executive Calvin Ball.
A familiar property along Baltimore National Pike is beginning a new chapter.
After approximately six decades as Brown's Motel, the Ellicott City property has been transformed into The Residences at Patapsco, a new 89-unit residential community designed for adults ages 55 and older.
Waverly Real Estate Group will celebrate the redevelopment with a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, October 23, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. Howard County Executive Calvin Ball is expected to attend the celebration.
The redevelopment brings new housing opportunities for older adults to the Baltimore National Pike corridor while giving a longtime local property a renewed purpose.
A New Chapter for a Familiar Property
For approximately 60 years, Brown's Motel was part of the landscape along Baltimore National Pike. Today, the property has taken on a new identity as a residential community designed to support comfortable, active, and connected living.
The Residences at Patapsco features a variety of amenities, including a fitness center, dedicated yoga room, resident gathering and party spaces, a coffee room, dog wash station, walking trail, and pond.
The combination of indoor amenities and outdoor spaces provides residents with opportunities for recreation, relaxation, and social connection.
“We knew this property had the potential to become something meaningful for the community,” said Don Reuwer, President of Waverly Real Estate Group. “Seeing the former Brown's Motel site transformed into The Residences at Patapsco has been incredibly rewarding. We're proud to bring new housing for adults 55 and older to the Baltimore National Pike corridor and to give this longtime property a new purpose.”
Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting
The ribbon-cutting ceremony will mark the official opening of The Residences at Patapsco. Guests will have an opportunity to tour the new community, explore its amenities, and enjoy refreshments following the ceremony.
