1. Maryland Renaissance Festival returns this month. Here's how to get tickets. (foxbaltimore.com) — The Maryland Renaissance Festival in Crownsville kicks off this month, and nine of the 19 dates, including opening day, are already sold out. Tickets are only available online, and organizers suggest joining a waitlist for sold-out days, as extra tickets may be released the Monday before each festival weekend.

Commission to assess tragedy of Black youth at former reform school holds first meeting (marylandmatters.org) — Maryland’s new commission investigating the deaths of Black boys at the former House of Reformation in Cheltenham held its first meeting at the People’s Resource Center in Crownsville. Members, led by Attorney General Anthony Brown, outlined plans for genealogical research, deeper review of death records, and future site visits as they work toward a 2027 preliminary report.
