Laurel Driver Dies After West River Crash Sees Truck Go Off Roadway: Police
A Laurel man died this week after a commercial truck he was driving went off the road in the West River area of Anne Arundel County.
WEST RIVER, MD — A Laurel commercial truck driver died after his vehicle went off the roadway in Anne Arundel County, police said Friday.
The incident took place Thursday shortly after 3 p.m. near the intersection of Swamp Circle and Muddy Creek roads in the West River area.
The Anne Arundel County Police Department identified the 34-year-old man as Keith Whitley Haines, who was driving a 1999 Freightliner FL70.

Police said early findings indicate Haines was driving northbound on Swamp Circle Road when he was unable to negotiate a curve, a move that caused the vehicle to go off the roadway and hit several wooden poles.
The force of the crash, according to police, saw Haines ejected from the truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders from the Anne Arundel County Fire Department.
