• Howard County appeals ruling on Elkridge ICE detention facility (wmar2news.com) — Construction of a controversial ICE detention facility on Meadowridge Road in Elkridge is back on for now, but Howard County is fighting a federal judge's order that reinstated its permits. County officials argue the judge misapplied state law on public notice and want construction paused again while they appeal, as the developer presses ahead under a federal contract. 
• Watchdog groups allege Washington County ICE detention center would hurt property values (wypr.org) — Advocacy groups in Washington County say a planned ICE detention center there could significantly cut nearby home values, and they're building tools to show residents the potential impact. Their leaders also plan a similar analysis for Elkridge, where another ICE facility is being proposed, raising early questions about what it could mean for local property values and taxes.
