Firefighters Battle Blaze At Marriottsville Home

A fire broke out at a Marriottsville home Saturday afternoon, prompting backup crews from Carroll County to help.

MARRIOTTSVILLE, MD — Crews were called to a home located in the area of Route 32 and I-70 Saturday afternoon for a report of a fire.

According to the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services, multiple 911 calls were received for smoke seen coming from the home. Crews first on the scene confirmed a house on fire that was located in the 2000 block of Route 32, or Sykesville Road. They were able to bring the fire under control quickly.

Firefighters searched the home and found no individuals inside. There were no reports of injuries to firefighters or civilians, the department stated. Crews from Carroll County assisted with fighting the fire.
