Firefighters Battle House, Barn Blazes In Howard County

Howard County firefighters battled two blazes in three days that damaged a pole barn and a home. No injuries were reported.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Firefighters have been busy battling a barn fire over the weekend and a separate house fire on Monday.

Shortly before 2 p.m. Monday, Howard County firefighters and paramedics were called to the 1100 block of Taylor Park Road in West Friendship for a report of a house fire.

Crews arrived to find a fire in the garage and reigned in the blaze within 10 minutes. Backup arrived from Carroll County, and no injuries were reported, according to the fire department.

Around 12:15 p.m. Saturday, firefighters were also called to the property located in the 2900 block of Florence Road in Woodbine for a barn fire. Crews found a 20x30-foot pole barn on fire, but quickly brought the fire under control, the fire department said.

No injuries were reported.
