MoCo Man Accused Of Assaulting Virginia Deputy: Sheriff's Office

Officials say the Gaithersburg man is facing several charges of obstructing justice and assaulting a law enforcement officer.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — A Gaithersburg man was arrested and charged over the weekend after assaulting a deputy in Bealeton, Virginia.

A release issued Sunday by the Fauquier County Sheriff's Office said Isaac Decarlo, 25, was arrested alongside 27-year-old Jalen Samuels, of Hempstead, Maryland.

Authorities said deputies were called to an apartment complex on Willow Drive in Bealeton on Friday night for reports of a disturbance.

At the scene, officials determined that Decarlo and Samuels engaged in a physical altercation and continued to act disorderly.

The sheriff's office said Samuels was the first of the two men to assault responding deputies and that Decarlo fought officials moments after Samuels was ultimately placed into custody.

Officials said that only Samuels was hit with a Taser device during the incident.

"Let me be clear: If you come to Fauquier County, you will be expected to respect our laws and our community," Fauquier County Sheriff Jeremy Falls said in a statement.

"No one is above the law and everyone will be held accountable for their actions. As Sheriff, I will continue to ensure that the law is enforced fairly, consistently, and without exception."

Samuels was charged with a single count of obstruction of justice and assault against a law enforcement officer, whereas Decarlo is facing two counts of obstruction of justice and three counts of assault against a law enforcement officer.

Both Decarlo and Samuels remain held at the Fauquier County Adult Detention Center without bond.
