Montgomery County GreenFest Scheduled For This Weekend

The Saturday event will feature vendors, battery recycling and other activities, according to organizers.

GERMANTOWN, MD — The annual Montgomery County GreenFest is slated to take place this weekend and will feature vendors, activities and more, according to event organizers.

Billed as the largest annual environmental festival in Montgomery County, GreenFest will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at BlackRock Center for the Arts in Germantown.

The goal of the event is for residents to explore and learn how to improve the community, their health and the environment.

"To honor the 250th anniversary of Montgomery County, this year’s theme centers on legacy and collective action," according to the event's website. "We invite every resident to celebrate Montgomery County’s 250 years by committing to 250 actions that safeguard our environment and public health."

According to organizers, more than 100 vendors and exhibits are attending the event. Attendees can also learn about electric vehicles, drop off household batteries for recycling and participate in other hands-on activities.
