HAVRE DE GRACE, MD — Fourth of July activities in Havre de Grace and across Harford County could have extra sparkle in 2026, the 250th anniversary, or semiquincentennial, of the Declaration of Independence.
The holiday falls on a Saturday in the middle of a three-day weekend, July 3-5. To help you fit it all in on your 4th of July calendar, Patch has put together a guide to fireworks and other celebrations in Havre de Grace and the surrounding areas.

Enjoy crafts, yard games, axe throwing, gag ball, tug-of-war, a kids zone, face painting, cornhole, giant Jenga, and live music with a fireworks extravaganza at the annual Red, White and BOOM! at Ripken Stadium in Aberdeen this Fourth of July.
Or celebrate the holiday with a patriotic flag-raising ceremony, parade, pancake breakfast, horseshoe pitching, music, a bicycle rodeo and fireworks in Bel Air.

Havre de Grace will host a July 4th parade, a concert by the Maryland Military Band and fireworks.
2026 4th of July Celebration in Bel Air
The 2026 4th of July Celebration in Bel Air will kick off with a flag-raising ceremony at 6:45 a.m. at Bel Air Town Hall on Hickory Avenue, 8:30 a.m. at Rockfield Park, 9:30 a.m. at Shamrock Park and 10:45 a.m. at Bel Air Elementary School.
A pancake breakfast will be held from 7 to 11:30 a.m. at Bel Air High School. Horseshoe pitching will take place at Rockfield Park from 9 a.m. to noon.
There will be family events, contests and more from 9 a.m. to noon at Shamrock Park. The Bel Air Community Band will perform a concert at noon.
From 9 a.m. to noon, organizers will present "The American Revolution Experience" at the Hays House, which examines how people in the 13 colonies reacted to the Revolution. Children's activities also will be held outside on the lawn. Then at the Harford History Center (143 N. Main Street, from 4 to 5:30 pm), winning artwork interpreting phrases from the Declaration of Independence will be on display.
A bicycle rodeo will take place at 11 a.m. at the Bel Air Elementary School and Lee Street. The Bel Air July 4th parade will start at 6 p.m. starting at Idlewild and South Main, then proceed toward the intersection of East Gordon Street and North Main Street.
Fireworks will start at 9:30 p.m. They will launch from Rockfield Park with viewing areas all around Bel Air, organizers say.
Havre de Grace 4th of July Celebration 2026
The Havre de Grace 4th of July Celebration will kick off with a parade at 2 p.m. along Union Avenue. The Maryland Military Band will perform an inspiring, patriotic concert at Concord Point Park July 5, which is located at 352 Commerce St. Music begins at 7:30 p.m.
Fireworks begin around 9:15 p.m. (or once it’s dark) directly off this point at the Susquehanna River. The best views are from Hutchins and Concord Point parks, organizers said.
Red, White and BOOM! 2026 at Ripken Stadium
Enjoy crafts, yard games, axe throwing, gag ball, tug-of-war, a kids zone, face painting, cornhole, giant Jenga, and live music with a fireworks extravaganza at the annual Red, White and BOOM! at Ripken Stadium, located at 873 Long Dr. in Aberdeen.

Celebrations around the country recall not only the events leading up to the adoption of the Declaration of Independence by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776, but also look forward and aim to make the 4th of July weekend a massive, multigenerational cultural moment focused on community connections and charitable giving.
America’s Block Party, an unprecedented coast-to-coast initiative, is one of the signature events of America 250, the congressionally chartered nonprofit overseeing the semiquincentennial celebration.
A Times Square Ball Drop, a rolling series of ball drops, timed to occur at midnight on July 3 in every U.S. time zone from Guam to American Samoa, is part of the “Giving 4th Broadcast Benefit Show,” creating a nearly 24-hour celebration of the 250th anniversary. It’s part of the broader “Giving 4th” initiative that aims to make and establish Independence Day the biggest annual day of giving.
A time capsule will be buried in Philadelphia to be opened in 2276 on July 4. It contains a carefully curated collection of letters and artifacts reflecting the leadership, institutions, and communities that shape the country today. It will include contributions from all three branches of the U.S. federal government and submissions from each of the 50 states, Washington D.C., and five territories.
Separately, the White House’s Freedom 250’s biggest spectacles are the Great American State Fair on the National Mall, running June 25 to July 10; the July 4 Salute to America Fireworks, also on the National Mall; “Sail 4th 250,” billed as the largest-ever flotilla of tall ships from around the world in New York Harbor; and Rushmore 250, an iconic 4th of July fireworks on July 3 alongside military concerts and live presidential reenactors.
