To celebrate Earth Day, Tanger Outlets National Harbor invites families to join its Earth Day Celebration on April 18 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Guests will be able to enjoy crafts, giveaways and engage in hands-on workshops that inform and empower guests to do their part in protecting the environment.
Also during the month of April, shoppers can give back by donating two pairs of used sneakers near the Food Truck Plaza on April 18 and 19, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Guests who donate will receive a special offer for 20 percent off top brands like Under Armour, Old Navy and Skechers. Sneakers collected will be recycled through Tanger’s partnership with Sneaker Impact, repurposing them into rubber material for future soft play surfaces and other usable products.
Tanger National Harbor is proud to continue its partnership with urban beekeeping company Alvéole to house bees in a rooftop hive as part of its ongoing effort to support local pollinator populations. These pollinators play an important role in contributing to a healthy, balanced ecosystem. Due to efforts from community partners like Tanger and Alvéole, honeybee populations across the country have been on the upswing in recent years. In addition, Tanger National Harbor also partners with rooftop farming leader Up Top Acres to host sustainable gardens that transform a previously underutilized area into a productive green space that plays a vital role in reducing carbon emissions, creating a balanced ecosystem and providing the local community with nutritious food options. The community is welcome to follow along as Tanger kicks off its 2026 farming season.
