2 Arrested After Traffic Stop Uncovers Drugs, Gun: Police
Two men were arrested on multiple drug and gun charges after a traffic stop in Severn, Anne Arundel County Police said.
SEVERN, MD — Two men were arrested over the weekend on drug and gun charges after a traffic stop in Severn.
Anne Arundel County Police identified the individuals as 33-year-old Severn resident Brian Anthony Cobb and 61-year-old Stephen Anthony McCoy.
Records show McCoy is a Mount Airy resident.

Details released by the department said the pair were stopped by police Saturday, shortly after 4:30 p.m. near the intersection of Annapolis and Disney roads. Police said the car was flagged for a speeding violation.
A search of the car later turned over not only a loaded Mossberg 590 shotgun and additional shotgun shells, but also a variety of drugs and $1,500 in cash.

Police said suspected MDMA, cocaine, Adderall, fentanyl and alprazolam were seized.
While McCoy is facing eight charges, Cobb was charged with 10 offenses. Both are facing four felonies each.
Among the charges filed in the case are:
- Six counts of possession of narcotics with intent to distribute.
- Six counts of possessing an illegal or unprescribed controlled dangerous substance other than marijuana.
- Possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute while possessing, using, or carrying a firearm.
- Possession of a controlled dangerous substance such as PCP, LSD or other hallucinogens with intent to distribute.
- Unregistered rifle or shotgun
Both Cobb and McCoy were released on their own recognizance. Preliminary hearings are scheduled for June 24 and July 1 for McCoy and Cobb, respectively.
