Over 30 People Injured In Pikesville After Bus Crashes Into Building
Dozens of people were injured in Pikesville after an MTA bus collided with several cars before crashing into a building.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — More than 30 people were injured late Wednesday after an MTA bus struck several cars in Pikesville before crashing into a building.
The Baltimore County Fire Department said the mass casualty incident took place on the 1500 block of Reisterstown Road and involved multiple vehicles, including one that had rolled over.
First calls about the collision were received just before 6 p.m.

Of the 33 people who were injured, at least one person in critical condition was airlifted by Maryland State Police.

Baltimore County Fire Chief Joseph Dixon likened the scene to a "war scene" due to the significant damages and "nature" of the scene.

Photos shared by the department show multiple cars that were severely damaged, as well as bricks, car parts and a mix of debris strewn across the roadway.

Dixon told reporters that over 100 first responders from across the state had responded, some coming from Anne Arundel and Howard counties. At least 15 ambulances were at the scene.
Investigators have not yet determined what caused the series of collisions. Dixon did not comment on whether speed played a factor.
Road closures are in effect in both directions between Old Court Road and McHenry Avenue as a result of the crash. Residents are strongly urged to avoid the area.
