Montgomery County animal sanctuary searches for missing goat (fox5dc.com) — Neighbors in Potomac are being asked to help search for Miggles, a 3‑year‑old rescue goat who slipped out of Dream Catcher Meadows sanctuary earlier this week. The owner is urging residents to check yards and thickets, call Miggles by name, and whistle, with a $2,000 reward offered for her safe return.
   

2. Caroline Bock, champion of local writers, publishes novel (thebeaconnewspapers.com) — Potomac residents may recognize neighbor and author Caroline Bock, who has turned her retirement here into a second-act literary career, publishing four books and championing local writers. She's active in the region's writing community, co-leading Washington Writers' Publishing House and teaching at The Writer's Center in Bethesda, while encouraging aspiring writers to take classes, attend festivals, and find supportive critique groups.
   

3. 3 Baltimore-area golfers savor hometown shot at U.S. Senior Amateur (capitalgazette.com) — One of the golfers chasing a U.S. Senior Amateur title this week lives right in Potomac, giving local fans a hometown connection to the championship at Baltimore Country Club. The story follows his journey alongside two other Baltimore-area players as they qualify, reflect on past USGA experiences, and set goals for this year's high‑stakes tournament.
   

4. Stabbing and Series of Vehicle-Related Thefts Included in August 26 Crime Summary (mocoshow.com) — Montgomery County Police report that the 2nd District, which includes Potomac, saw two airbag thefts from vehicles on Dudley Lane and Tuckerman Lane, plus a commercial burglary on MacArthur Boulevard. Other districts experienced a vehicle theft, additional airbag and wheel thefts, and a non-life-threatening stabbing in Germantown, underscoring continued regional property and violent crime concerns.
