Wayside Elementary School and Beverly Farms Elementary School will walk to school on Wednesday, Oct. 6.

Two local elementary schools are ditching the cars on Wednesday morning as part of Walk to School Day.

Students and teachers at Wayside Elementary School and Beverly Farms Elementary School are meeting up on Wednesday, Oct. 6 to walk and bike to school together as a way to promote healthy habits, to create safer routes for walking and biking and to improve air quality in the area.

Wayside students and teachers are meeting up at 8:45 a.m. at one of four locations to walk to school together. Even if students take the bus or carpool, they are encouraged to get dropped off at one of the designated places to join the walk.
